You take great pride in your home – you’ve probably spent countless hours decorating it and making sure it’s perfect for your family and entertaining your friends.
But what about your outdoor space?
Imagine having the same comfort you experience inside your home in the outdoors. The weather here in Alabama is beautiful, our winters are mild, and as a result we have the perfect climate to enjoy outdoor comfort.
Have you ever considered expanding your living space to the outdoors? Turning your yard, patio and porch into an outdoor living area can add a whole new dynamic to the enjoyment of your home. An outdoor living area is wonderful to enjoy family time and gatherings with friends.
The designers here at The Nelson Team are perfect for the job, tell us your dream, your budget, and let us do the rest. We’ve designed beautiful outdoor areas and would love to show you our portfolio.
Installed for their warmth as well as their ambience, outdoor fireplaces turn patios and backyards into cozy outdoor living spaces. Fireplaces often become the design anchor of expanding your outdoor living space. We install a variety of fireplaces that burn wood or are gas fired.
Fire pits are similar to fireplaces as they provide warmth and ambience, however, can fit into smaller surroundings. These can be designed to be a fire pit in the winter and a stunning water feature in the warmer months.
An outdoor kitchen can bring indoor convenience to your outdoor living space. They’re great for entertaining family and friends. We install kitchens ranging from just a built in Bar-B-Q grill to complete kitchens with one or more grills, ovens, sinks, bars, refrigerators and storage cabinets. We use top of the line appliances and accessories such as Turbo, Lynx, Viking, Twin Eagles and Big Green Eggs.
A patio is the nucleus for any outdoor living space. We offer a variety of materials for building your patio. Our landscape designer will help you to choose what size, shape, and style fits your needs and budget.
There are many types of retaining walls. Some are designed to hold soil on one side while freestanding on the other. Retaining walls are also used on level ground to raise outdoor living spaces above the surrounding area. They can also be used to elevate planting areas and at the same time be used as a sitting wall. Aesthetic, decorative, segmental, natural stone (of many kinds). Reinforced concrete block, poured-in-place and timber walls are just some types of walls. We can build retaining walls based on aesthetic, functional and/or structural needs.
In laymen’s terms, edging presents a transition zone, whether to define a planting area, define a walkway or driveway edge or just defining the planting beds from your turf. Our design team can show you the different types of edging that we offer.
Contemporary landscapes have become a showcase of manufactured paving stones. Valued for their low cost and long term durability, interlocking pavers are an excellent choice for your outdoor living space. Not only can you add to these in the future, but you can also remove them in order to make other additions. Permeable pavers allow you to pave around trees or comply with zero runoff building codes. Our design team will help choose the right paver for your project. We primarily use Belgard and Old Castle paver products, because a good reputation and quality is their goal, as well as ours.
We’re also ICPI certified pavers.
